Description

Updating and streamlining training was the goal of this project. After review of the existing material (40+ page technical PDF), it was decided an interactive manual could serve double duty as training and reference resource. 

The guide was designed with narrative components to facilitate learner recall during the sequential opening and closing procedures. These procedures are interspersed with exercises components that engage learners with interactivity.Alongside procedural informational, soft skills are demonstrated through light scenario-based instruction and reinforced with positive and socially inclusive language.

Taxes are confusing, and tax brackets with marginal tax rates don’t help.  This module was designed to assist learners in understanding the marginal nature of tax brackets and provide immediate feedback pertinent to their individual situation.

Developed as part of co-teaching a graduate-level course on game design and analytics, this game is an adaption of the Corsi block task used to test short-term memory skills. Using content-agnostic game design principles, I designed and developed the game to be lighthearted and easy to play for a wide-range of audiences. In addition, data is collected from gameplay and stored in a SQL database for analysis. 

Time Crimers - Cognitive Skills Test

Description

Designed from a novel game mechanic, Time Crimers tasks players with keeping a very noisy house as quiet as possible. The game divides the player’s attention between time tracking and assorted noise-muting activities to measure their ability to control cognitive load between the two tasks. Developed using Construct 3, the game utilizes online leaderboards to motivate players to continue to improve their skills.
